Alan Beck is the lead-council attorney who litigated the Young v. Hawaii case that was brought before the 9th Circuit Court that recently overturned the complete ban on open carry in the State of Hawaii.

The Young case clarified and interpreted the Second Amendment to mean that citizens can lawfully carry arms beyond their homes.

Alek Skarlatos – a specialist with the Oregon army national guard, was one of three friends who stopped a terrorist attack on the 15:17 Train to Paris. Now Alek is running for elected office in Oregon, seeking election to US Congress to represent Oregon’s 4th District.

On a Thalys train travelling from Amsterdam to Paris, part of a European vacation he’d planned with his friends Spencer Stone and Anthony Sadler to celebrate the end of his tour of duty in Afghanistan, the three friends were passengers on a train headed to Paris when they helped overpower a 26-year-old Moroccan man who was armed with an AK-47, a pistol, a box cutter and heavy ammunition.

“Three hours into the journey, a 25-year-old Moroccan man with Isis connections, Ayoub El-Khazzani, began rampaging through the carriages armed with a pistol, a Kalashnikov, 270 rounds of ammunition and half a litre of petrol, eventually shooting and grievously wounding a Franco-American man, Mark Moogalian, who tried to stop him. What El-Khazzani wasn’t bargaining for was the trio of peppy Americans, who, together with 62-year-old Brit Chris Norman, overcame the attacker, Skarlatos using the butt of El-Khazzani’s own gun to beat him into submission.” – The Guardian

Alek is currently running for elected office in Oregon, seeking election to US Congress.

After serving his country, Alek traveled the world for speaking engagements, starred in a movie directed by Clint Eastwood about his life leading up to the Paris train attack, appeared on Dancing with the Stars and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Although these experiences were life changing, Alek felt it was time to come home to his favorite place, Roseburg.

As a veteran, Alek, has a passion for service and giving back to the community that supported him. He is rooted in the community and is able to identify the issues Douglas County faces day to day. Alek sees friends and neighbors leaving for jobs and understands the growing need for job innovation.

Jake Merritt is a US Law Shield Regional Manager.

Lana Bryan is an Operations Manager for US LawShield and oversees 9 states for the company and has been with the company for 8 years. Lana has been an NRA Instructor for many years and has been an avid shooter for 30 years. Her passion of empowering women and teaching children the safety and fundamentals of shooting is her passion.

Lana comes from a world of communications, editorials, marketing and promotions. She is the former publisher and founder for Connect Colorado Magazine, Your Community Marketplace and The Constitutionalist Today. She started the El Paso County TEA Party in Colorado and was the talk show host of Common-Sense News & Radio, where she utilized her skills and became a voice for the liberty-grassroots movement. Lana was elected the state party secretary for the Colorado Republican Party and served the party in various elected positions for over 10 years.

In 2011, Lana founded Honor Flight of Southern Colorado (in her Father’s memory), which is a non-profit flying our WWII heroes to Washington DC for a 3-day trip of a lifetime- and volunteers with the USO. Ms. Bryan’s proven record in leadership is why she has built a distinguished career in developing marketing campaigns at the local, regional, and national levels. She has been recognized as an accomplished professional having received several awards for her outstanding creative ad campaigns and writing abilities.

Stephen Stamboulieh acted as co-counsel litigating the Young v. Hawaii case that in 2018 was brought before the 9th Circuit Court that overturned the complete ban on open carry in the State of Hawaii.

Stephen is a native of Houston, Texas, and a practicing attorney in Madison, MS.  He concentrates his work on firearms law and representing those whose rights have been infringed by the government.  In one of his cases, he represents Kent Terry, brother of slain border patrol agent Bryan Terry, in an ongoing lawsuit against the Dept of State in his constant attempt to get information on the Fast & Furious ATF Gunrunning fiasco.

In the Young v. Hawaii case, Mr. Young was a pro se individual (meaning he didn’t have a lawyer when he filed his case) and he was dismissed.  Alan Beck, who became lead-council in the case, appealed that decision to the 9^th Circuit because he believed Mr. Young deserved his day in court.

AZ DPS Trooper Ed Andersson is the a police officer who was wounded and pinned down in a shootout on a lonely stretch of desert highway. He is with us still today because of the quick and decisive actions of Thomas Yoxall, a Responsibly Armed Citizen.

Ed is a Military Veteran, husband, father, grandfather, and softball coach.

Worked for the department  of corrections for about a year before being hired by the department of public safety.  Been with DPS for 28 years.  First 17 years patrolling on I-10 west of Buckeye, AZ.  The last ten years as a commercial enforcement trooper.”
