AZ DPS Trooper Ed Andersson is the a police officer who was wounded and pinned down in a shootout on a lonely stretch of desert highway. He is with us still today because of the quick and decisive actions of Thomas Yoxall, a Responsibly Armed Citizen.
Ed is a Military Veteran, husband, father, grandfather, and softball coach.
From Ed, “I was in the Air Force for 5 years before getting out. Worked for the department of corrections for about a year before being hired by the department of public safety. Been with DPS for 28 years. First 17 years patrolling on I-10 west of Buckeye, AZ. The last ten years as a commercial enforcement trooper.”
