Paul Lathrop is the Deputy Director of New Media for the Second Amendment Foundation (www.saf.org). He started his work in second amendment media as the owner and co-executive producer of the Polite Society Podcast on the Self Defense Radio Network (www.sdrn.us).
Paul has had a lifelong familiarity with guns having grown up in Rural South Dakota and has most recently become deeply involved with the topic of self-defense. His growing displeasure with the state of the nation and the state of our government caused him to create the politics and guns podcast in early 2012. Since then the show has had a re-branding as the Polite Society Podcast and has grown to over 100 thousand monthly views and podcast downloads..

1) First of all, Congratulations on retiring from one career and sliding beautifully into the next! Fortune favors the workaholic! Tell us about your new role at the SAF!
2) I have titled this episode 2A Media in the Age of Censorship. How are you navigating the shifting sands of where we are “allowed” to utter words of liberty and gun ownership?
3) The annual Amm-Con event is designed to help bloggers, podcasters, etc to network and to learn from each other. This past year Covid made the networking part difficult, and the new censorship might make it difficult to even meet virtually by the time we get to the 2021 Amm-Con. What are your thoughts on this?
4) Clearly you value communication. And clearly you are invested in helping people better understand their Constitutional Rights. If you had one thing you wanted to impart to the 8 million brand new first time gun owners across the US, what would it be?
