Theme: Can You Hear Me Now?: Parents, Kids & Guns and The Hearing Protection Act
Hour #1 Guests: Scott & Dimi Johnson
We often hear people say that kids and guns don’t mix, that if you are a responsible parent you should not have even a single firearm in your home…other people believe that having gun in the home is simply one more tool (like a fire extinguisher) that helps keep a family safe…we have a husband & wife here in studio who are both former military, drill instructors, firearm instructors and parents. We wanted to get their take on this topic.
Hour #2 Guests: The Polite Society Podcast
The cast of the PSP join us to talk about a new Bill being proposed by AZ Congressmen Matt Salmon H.R.3799 Hearing Protection Act of 2015 – which is being supported by the NRA and others because suppressors significantly reduce the chance of hearing loss. This bill amends the Internal Revenue Code to: (1) eliminate the $200 transfer tax on firearm silencers, and (2) treat any person who acquires or possesses a firearm silencer as meeting any registration or licensing requirements of the National Firearms Act with respect to such silencer. Any person who pays a tax on a silencer after October 22, 2015 may receive a refund of such tax.
