Jim Irvine is professional airline pilot. He volunteers time to serve as President of the Buckeye Firearms Foundation (BFF). His work for BFA includes working with legislators and interested parties to enact changes to Ohio firearm and self-defense laws. He works with candidates to help them better understand the various firearms related interests and disciplines.
Jim’s work for BFF includes coordinating work and funding for the Foundation’s involvement with education and litigation projects. The Foundation filed amicus briefs in the successful Heller v District of Columbia and McDonald v Chicago cases at the SCOTUS level and has won other rulings prohibiting Cleveland from enforcing local gun control schemes.
Jim’s passion is his work with schools related to the “FASTER Saves Lives” program. He works with school boards and staff on understanding, prevention, and mitigation of violence. He is part of a small group that has changed the way schools prepare and react to active killers.
He speaks regularly with media, business/trade groups, political and community events to address any issue related to firearms, safety/security, politics or litigation.
