Dave Cook holds certifications in both NRA Basic Pistol Instructor and Range Safety Officer, and acts as an instructor for NRA Basic Pistol certification courses at the Joe Foss Range in Buckeye, AZ.
Dave enjoys recreational shooting with his wife and their two children: a 16 year old son and 11 year old daughter, and has been an active participant in the shooting community including multiple shooting safety courses, hunting, and recreational shooting sports. Spanning from his early BB-gun-days as a boy, to high speed Practical Pistol competition with his son, Dave has fired a round through nearly all types of firearms ranging up to and including a 105mm Howitzer cannon.
Dave has been an active member of USPSA Practical Pistol and 3-Gun matches for over 13 years, shooting thousands of rounds of ammunition alongside literally hundreds of shooters from 9 years old to 90 years old. Having introduced any people to the world of firearms though one-on-one safety instruction and acting as an unofficial Range Officer under the watch of certified match directors drove him to pursue certification and instructor credentials to become more involved in bringing new shooters of all ages to the shooting sports.
