Our guest today is Michael Infanzon. Michael is the Chief Lobbyist and a Director for the Arizona Citizens Defense League, Managing Partner of EPIC Policy Group, and one of the most familiar faces at the Arizona Capitol when legislation affecting the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is being debated. 1) The 2026 Arizona legislative session is behind us, and AzCDL tracked many of bills affecting firearm owners—including bills that passed the Legislature but were ultimately vetoed. Looking back at the session, what were the biggest victories, disappointments, and lessons for Arizona gun owners? 2) Most people think a lobbyist's work happens only while the Legislature is in session, but AzCDL has also been investigating local firearm ordinances and potential violations of Arizona's firearms-preemption laws. What are you finding at the city and county level, and why does state preemption matter to an ordinary gun owner who may never set foot inside the Capitol? 3) On Saturday, October 17th, AzCDL will hold its 21st Annual Meeting of Members in Phoenix, bringing together Arizona gun owners and Second Amendment leaders. Tell us about this year's event, what attendees can expect, and why gatherings like this are about much more than simply preaching to the choir. (This year's speakers include Keynote Speaker, Mark Walters, GOP Nominee for Lt. Governor Sine Kerr, AZ State Director of Gun Owners of America Cyn Ladd, and Second Amendment Foundation founder Alan Gottlieb. From 11:am – 4:pm at Elks Lodge #335 - 14424 N 32nd Street, Phoenix, AZ 85032) 4) You spend your days watching legislation, regulations, court decisions, local governments, and the people and organizations working on all sides of these issues. Looking ahead to 2027, where do you see the biggest opportunities—and the biggest challenges—for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms in Arizona? 5) Finally, AzCDL has always emphasized that protecting rights isn't a spectator sport. For the Arizona gun owner who says, “I care about the Second Amendment, but I don't know what I can actually do,” where do you tell them to start? 6) How do people follow your work, listen to the Copper Dome Update: 2A Edition, and get involved with AzCDL? Their efforts include restoring and expanding the right to carry firearms openly or discreetly, reducing restrictions on carrying in public spaces, protecting the right to carry in restaurants, preserving the presumption of innocence in self-defense cases, ensuring consistent firearms laws statewide, holding property owners accountable when banning firearms, and strengthening Arizona’s concealed carry framework.

Raised in Miami, Florida, by a single mother, Michael served two enlistments in the United States Marine Corps, deploying to combat and receiving an honorable discharge as a service-connected disabled veteran. He earned his undergraduate degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, his graduate degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, and his J.D. from Arizona State University. He is also the author of three published books on public policy, which reflect his experience and scholarship in legislative affairs.

In 2025, Michael was the recipient of the AzCDL’s Guardian of Gun Rights Award.
