A first time political candidate, Steve Shives is running for Florida House District 27 in 2024.
He has been an entrepreneur since high school, starting his own business in 1982 at the age of 16.
In 2012, he started Runaway Campers, a small camping trailer manufacturing company in his backyard, that has since grown into a nationwide company, with thousands of units on the road.
Steve and his wife Deidre have been married 38 years, and have two grown children and two grandchildren.
