Our guest today is Mike Crawford. Mike is a 2024 Candidate for Sheriff of Maricopa County. He has lived a life of Service to this nation, first as a volunteer firefighter while in high school, then in the United States Air Force, followed by becoming a Deputy Sheriff special agent for the DEA Narcotics Taskforce and Extradition Fugitive Deputy in his native state of New Mexico. Once Mike moved to Arizona, he joined the Glendale Police Department as a Police Officer, becoming a Motor Instructor, and is a recognized motorcycle expert in the Arizona court system. Mike’s campaign to become Maricopa County Sheriff is a culmination of a lifetime of experience and Service. 1) There is so much evidence that the Federal Government has weaponized the DOJ and other three-letter agencies against the Citizens. What can a Sheriff do about that? 2) What are your thoughts about the current non-enforcement of immigration and drug / human trafficking laws in Maricopa County? 3) An issue that too many people are not familiar with, yet being impacted by is the exorbitant spending of taxpayer moneys with the Melendres lawsuit at MCSO. What can you tell us about this issue? 4) Red flag laws and the underlying threats against gun rights are not going away anytime soon. As a servant leader, Mike has served his community since he was young. He served as a volunteer firefighter while in high school. When he graduated high school, he joined the United States Air Force. He served as a Crew Chief on KC135s. In 1991, he successfully completed the Non-Commissioned Officer Preparatory Course and was promoted to Sergeant. During his service, his evaluations reflected his commitment to his position and those who he served within the Air Force. Mike was recognized for his hard work, can-do attitude, and readiness to take on additional responsibility. In August of 1992, he was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force.

In August of 1992, Mike was sworn as a Deputy Sheriff at the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office and attended the New Mexico State Police Academy in Santa Fe, New Mexico. During his time at the Sheriff’s
Office, Mike served in patrol as a special agent for the Drug Enforcement Administration Region II Narcotics Taskforce and an extradition fugitive deputy.

In September of 1997, Mike joined the Glendale Police Department as a Police Officer. He attended the Arizona Law Enforcement Academy. During his time at the Police Department, he served in patrol, motors, vehicular crimes, and special operations. He has been trained and certified as a general instructor, field training officer, taught traffic law at the academy, and served as a motor instructor. Mike is a recognized motorcycle expert in the Arizona court system. Mike retired in March of 2021.

Mike was born and raised in Farmington, New Mexico. is proudly married to Jamie. Together, they have three incredible children, six beautiful grandchildren, and two adorable puppies.
