AZ US Congressman David Schweikert is serving his eighth term in the United States Congress.  He holds a seat on the Ways and Means Committee and is the current Chairman of the Oversight Subcommittee. He is the Chairman of the bicameral Joint Economic Committee, Chairman the Valley Fever Task force, is the Republican Co-Chair of the Blockchain Caucus, Co-Chair of the Tunisia Caucus, and Co-Chair of the Telehealth Caucus.

He has represented Arizona in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2011 and CD1 since the last re-districting in 2022. An Arizona resident since childhood, David grew up in Scottsdale, graduated from Arizona State University with an MBA, and began his career in the real estate industry before entering public service.

He previously served in the Arizona House of Representatives and as Maricopa County Treasurer before being elected to Congress. Known as a fiscal conservative and one of the co-founders of the House Freedom Caucus, Congressman Schweikert helped write the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and has earned a reputation for championing limited government, free markets, and responsible fiscal policy.

Today (2026), he serves as Chairman of the Joint Economic Committee and as a member of the influential House Ways and Means Committee, where he continues his work to reduce the size, cost, and reach of the federal government. Congressman Schweikert and his wife, Joyce, live in Fountain Hills, Arizona, with their two children.
