About Drake Mitchell, Arizona 2nd Amendment Sanctuary City, County and Reservation Movement
Drake Mitchell is a member of the Arizona 2nd Amendment Sanctuary City, County and Reservation Movement, the AZ2A.org.
Drake is also the current Chairman of the Arizona Citizens Defense League PAC, the AzCDLPAC.
From Drake:
“I am a third generation Arizona native with a family tradition of military service. I served in the Army, joining just before the first Gulf war and spent 9 years and 10 months outside of the US in my 17 years of service. I was hurt in the line of duty and was medically retired.
For almost 10 years I have been an Arizona Citizens Defense League (AZCDL) volunteer coordinator, past AZCDL board member, past AZCDL Foundation board member and current AZCDL PAC Chairman. My primary goal is to un-elect antigun, anti-right politicians when ever possible. We can not continue to support the same folks who have proven they will vote against the Bill of Rights and expect different results.
We are starting a new chapter in Arizona’s fight to secure our 2nd Amendment Rights with the 2nd Amendment Sanctuary City, County and Reservation Movement. Our Yavapai Co. group started working with the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors in January of 2019 to start a conversation of becoming a Sanctuary County. On their own, patriots from Mohave County had the same idea. Mohave was the first county in Arizona to become a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary county. The team from Mohave reached out to their fellow pro2A activists in La Paz and helped them join the movement. Then came Navajo, Yavapai, Pinal and Maricopa county’s joining the movement. Coconino, Gila and Yuma counties have groups actively working to get their counties on board. We started the 2nd Amendment Sanctuary City, County and Reservation movement to support city’s, counties and reservations across Arizona with relevant supporting documents, our website and Facebook page for informational pages for patriots seeking information on the movement and model legislation for folks to give to their counties to guide them forward on this important issue.
We owe Attorney Michael E. Taylor a debt of gratitude for all the legal work and organizing the legal documents necessary to produce legally binding Ordinances and Resolutions. Michael Taylor specializes in firearms law, NFA Trusts and has worked on 2A issues at the legislature and has written legislation to support our rights. He has done much of the progun, prorights, pro-militia, prostates rights for firearms legislation for Arizona in the last 8-10 years.”
