Our guest today is Michael Infanzon. Michael is the Chief Lobbyist for the Arizona Citizens Defense League and Managing Partner at EPIC Policy Group and handles Government Affairs for the Arizona Firearms Industry Trade Association (AZFITA). 1) Currently in the state of AZ we have a Republican Majority in both the House and the Senate, however, the Governor is a Democrat who has made herself famous for using her veto powers over bills that come to her desk. How do you navigate that when it comes to gun bills? 2) Truly understanding bills requires that we have a full grasp of what the current laws are and how changing things might have unintended consequences. Even people who consider themselves pro-gun can write and support bad legislation simply because they aren’t thinking of the full scope of implications. How do you navigate these kinds of things? 3) What are the top three best & worst Bills you’ve navigated in AZ? 4) You value collaboration and are a big supporter of groups like Women For Gun Rights. How do you balance the needs of individual organizations while also not stepping on each other’s areas of expertise? 5) How do people follow you? Originally Aired 3.3.25

AzCDL’s legislative work prioritizes addressing criminal misuse of firearms while protecting the rights of responsible gun owners. Their efforts include restoring and expanding the right to carry firearms openly or discreetly, reducing restrictions on carrying in public spaces, protecting the right to carry in restaurants, preserving the presumption of innocence in self-defense cases, ensuring consistent firearms laws statewide, holding property owners accountable when banning firearms, and strengthening Arizona’s concealed carry framework.

Raised in Miami, Florida, by a single mother, Michael served two enlistments in the United States Marine Corps, deploying to combat and receiving an honorable discharge as a service-connected disabled veteran. He earned his undergraduate degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, his graduate degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, and his J.D. from Arizona State University. He is also the author of three published books on public policy, which reflect his experience and scholarship in legislative affairs.

As Managing Partner of EPIC Policy Group, headquartered in Phoenix with satellite offices in Missouri and Virginia, Michael oversees a portfolio spanning 14 states and maintains federal lobbying capability in Washington, D.C. While EPIC’s associates cover a wide range of policy areas, his personal focus remains on motorcycle rights, firearms rights and firearms-related businesses, veterans’ issues, and economic development and small business policy.
