Our guest today is Dr. John Oertle (Pronounced ERT-lee). Dr. Oertle is Chief Medical Officer of Envita Medical Centers and America’s HealthShare, and Chairman of Envita’s Molecular Tumor Board, pioneering precision genomic medicine and patient-centered solutions to America’s healthcare challenges. Dr Oertle is passionate about removing the roadblocks to exercising personal health freedom that aligns with our personal values.
1) On GunFreedomRadio, we often say that when your life is threatened, you are your own first responder. That doesn’t diminish the value of law enforcement—it recognizes our responsibility to participate in our own safety. Is there a parallel principle in healthcare? Should we think of ourselves as our own “first responder” when it comes to our health?
2) With firearms, responsible freedom means getting educated, understanding the risks, and developing the skills to make informed decisions. What does that same kind of personal responsibility look like in healthcare—and how is precision genomic medicine helping patients make decisions based on their individual circumstances rather than a one-size-fits-all approach?
3) Gun owners are often stereotyped as paranoid rather than prepared. In a similar vein, simply asking difficult questions about healthcare can sometimes be labeled as anti-science or being a conspiracy theorist. How do we encourage people to question, investigate, and seek second opinions while still respecting legitimate medical science and expertise?
4) Our Founders spoke of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. If we expand that idea to “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Health Freedom,” what does health freedom mean to you—and what responsibilities come with it?
5) How do people follow you?
