Quang Nguyen is an Arizona State Representative serving Legislative District 1. As Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, he has earned the nickname “The Bad Bill Shredder” for his leadership in stopping unconstitutional legislation from both sides of the aisle, especially anti-gun measures.
A steadfast defender of Arizona’s Article 2, Section 26 – Arizona’s version of the Second Amendment – Rep. Nguyen has been recognized multiple times as Legislator of the Year by the Arizona Citizens Defense League and received the Golden Shredder Award in 2025.
First elected in 2021 and re-elected in 2023, Quang has long been active in Second Amendment advocacy. He served as President of the Arizona State Rifle & Pistol Association and has been involved with the organization since 2013. In 2021, he was honored as National Legislator of the Year by the National Shooting Sports Foundation.
Quang immigrated to the United States at the end of the Vietnam War with little more than the clothes on his back. He learned English, assimilated into American life, graduated from college, and built a successful small business to support his family.
Quang is an active member of the NRA and is the former President of the AZ State Rifle & Pistol Association.
